Fire-resistant storage cabinet, specially designed for the storage and charging of lithium-ion batteries.

Tests in accordance with VDMA 24994 have proven that the cabinet can withstand the ignition of batteries inside and reliably prevents the escape of flames, projectiles or splinters, thereby preventing the spread of fire. In addition, it has been proven that the cabinet can withstand a 90-minute fire from the outside.

It is possible to connect the cabinet to a ventilation system.

A wheeled base allows the cabinet to be easily moved and transported with a pallet truck or forklift. The base panel can be quickly mounted and removed without tools. The mobile cabinet is designed to be placed freely in the room, but can also be placed against a wall.

We recommend placing the cabinets on level ground from where rapid evacuation is possible in the event of damage.

Function

  • Certified Fire Protection
  • Tested against internal thermal runaway in accordance with VDMA 24994
  • Maximum external temperature rise at any measuring point: no more than 150 K
  • Certified fire resistance of 90 minutes from outside to inside in accordance with VDMA 24994
  • Maximum internal temperature rise at any measuring point: no more than 120 K (starting temperature: 20 °C)
  • Suitable for storage and charging of portable lithium-ion batteries up to 25 kg per battery

Structure & equipment

  • Storage cabinet with high-quality surfaces inside and outside
  • Permanently self-closing doors with oil-damped door closers
  • Double-leaf design, two hinged doors with centre bar
  • Each door can be operated with one hand
  • Cabinet doors close automatically from any position

  • Includes technical ventilation (to avoid heat accumulation in the interior)
  • Closure of supply and exhaust air in case of fire, triggered by thermocouple and smoke detector
  • Integrated, wheel-accessible base, height 100 mm with removable base panel, making it easy to change location
  • Tool-free installation of the base panel
  • Base panel included in delivery
  • Four powder-coated steel shelves, load capacity 75 kg/shelf
  • Integrated liquid-tight base tray (powder-coated sheet steel) to collect any leaks
  • Each storage level can be equipped with a power strip including 10 protective contact sockets
  • Plug-in design for connection to the mains
  • Standard with control unit (visual and audible status indication)
  • Smoke detector inside the cabinet triggers automatically in the event of a fire
  • Acoustic and visual signal in the event of a fire
  • Optional fire suppression system
  • A potential-free interface is available for connecting a signal (e.g. to a control centre)
  • Complete shutdown of the cabinet‘s power supply in the event of an accident
